Enjoy the extended weekend, everyone! I hope you find time to rest and do something you enjoy. Last week, we explored iodine and making informed choices about supplementation. What was one thing you learned? Next week, we’ll talk about boosting ketosis and simple habits that can support it. Bring your questions! Looking forward to seeing you there.

Highly recommend to watch the live about glycine. Just wow and glycine?! I use to take it randomly not fully understanding it's benefits.

I just got a Mojo-Meter and came up with a reading of 1.4 for my Ketones! This is after only 4 weeks on Keto, and 4 days on Carnivore. As mentioned before, I also got rid of sores on my tongue and throat that I have had, off and on, for 50 years. I got rid of cracks in the sides of my mouth years ago by eating meat after being a vegetarian.

That’s fantastic progress! A ketone reading of 1.4 after only four weeks of keto and four days of carnivore is great to see. Even more exciting is that the sores you’ve dealt with off and on for 50 years have cleared up. That’s a huge win! Congratulations, and keep us posted on your progress!

I went to a practitioner and took a bioenergetic scan, and it stated that my progesterone production is suppressed. And there may be possible thyroid dysfunction. Not sure if you remember me but I have the missing period (last spotting was in May)! But curious your opinion. What do you think of Mindy Pelz’s work?
questionunited stateswilliston (nd)

...
Since you haven’t had a period since May, I would definitely investigate this further. I wouldn’t rely solely on a bioenergetic scan to determine that your progesterone is suppressed or that you have thyroid dysfunction. I’d consider getting actual hormone labs and a full thyroid panel so you have a clearer picture of what’s going on.

As far as Mindy Pelz, I’m familiar with some of her work, but I haven’t researched it deeply enough to give you a solid opinion one way or the other.

So I just got my blood work back for the Fire Department and they’re concerned because my cholesterol total is 291 and my LDL is 207. My HDL is 61 and my triglycerides are 130. I know that doing carnivore has helped me lose 47 pounds and I go to the gym four days a week. I’m muscular now doctors are concerned about my high cholesterol now.

Congratulations on losing 47 pounds and building muscle! I’m wondering what your numbers looked like before carnivore and how long you’ve been eating this way. Your HDL of 61 looks good, and your triglycerides are under 150. LDL by itself doesn’t tell us the whole story. If you or your doctor are concerned about it, you could consider more detailed testing, including LDL particle size and subfractions.

I'm getting overwhelmed again, there just seems to be so much to do to get my body back on track to be healthy, but first need to heal then move to being healthy then move to being optimum... At lot of damage has been caused by modern advice and thinking but now it's my poor choices.

It can definitely feel overwhelming when you start thinking about everything at once. Try not to focus on fixing everything today. Pick one or two things you can work on now and build from there. Your body didn’t get here overnight, and healing takes time. Every positive choice you make is a step in the right direction. Progress over perfection. ❤️

would wearing copper jewelry help your body absorb it as a supplement? Or drinking from copper water bottles if the water has sat in it over night?
question

Copper through the skin: No, not enough to be a meaningful source.
Copper bottle overnight: Yes, some copper can leach into the water, but the dose is unknown

Hi Rina,

Following on about cod liver oil. This aussie version was recommended by the company that continues Western A Price's work.

https://www.codliveroil.net.au/

Would this be a good quality local cod liver oil to take? My son and I have been taking this on and off for the last five years.

If it was recommended by Weston A Price foundation I would say it's a yes, although I am not familiar with the brand.

Give it a go 😊

Is there a month on the liver and gallbladder? I have a fatty liver and gallstones. I am tackling visceral fat and hope this will be healing inside as I have started to lose weight. But I'm still concerned about it. Doctors tell me there's nothing to be done. I know that's not true.

We can definitely focus on fatty liver, to help with that.

I've lost about 5-7kg since giving up most dairy (except one small latte every other day), and reduce liquid fats/calories. I'm finding I'm now hungry after dinner especially a few hours later. Since I've lost some do I increase protein or fat? I've added some small pickles back in to have with my steak for dinner and a little bit of butter. Help.

It sounds like your body may be telling you that you need a little more fuel. First, make sure you’re eating enough protein. If your protein is adequate, try increasing your fat slightly.
I’m not talking about adding lots of butter or liquid fats. You could simply choose a slightly fattier cut of meat. Make a small adjustment and see how your hunger responds.

Next week we’re kicking off our September Iodine Challenge!

We’ll talk about why iodine matters, signs you may not be getting enough, testing, supplementation, and how much you may need.

What’s your biggest question about iodine? Drop it below so we can talk about it next week!
generalunited stateshart (mi)

Yes it's best to start with 1 drop and increase every week or 2 depending on how you feel. Also ensure you have enough salt which helps absorb the iodine.

Hi! 😊
I’m currently doing the 14-Day Carnivore Challenge. I noticed the app has changed, and I find the new version less user-friendly.
I liked being able to check off only the tasks I completed that day and return to the others the next day. That doesn’t seem possible anymore.
Do you prefer the new version or the old one?

Hey @Lyne thanks for the feedback, I will pass this onto our team to see if they can make some adjustments.

What does the 5 levels of carnivore involve?

Greetings. Tomorrow on Sunday will be my first three weeks on Keto. Keto because I still eat a small amount of vegetables, nuts, seeds and dairy. I just tested my Keto level with the Keto-Diastix Strips and show a 15 to 20 reading. I am going to get a Keto meter, which one should I get? Is a 15 to 20 reading good? Thanks!

Hey @Gordon congratulations on three weeks on Keto. I would suggest a blood Ketone meter, it's more accurate than strips. Anything above 0.5 suggests mild ketosis.

Just had the chance to hear Dr Koutnik from 7/2/26. How in the world can he be carnivore and have a 123ish LDL?

Hi @Fran Dr Koutnik is not strict zero carb Carnivore and follows a Ketogenic diet focusing on protein, that would explain the lower LDL.
