My battle with weight and health issues began in my early 40s. I've tried every diet and fad available to stem the tide of creeping weight gain. Over the years, I've abandoned hope that a doctor would provide the answers I sought, and started looking for answers on my own. My research led to the keto eating plan (June-Sept), and then it was a short sprint to carnivore (Oct '24). YouTube has been an excellent source of relevant information, proof of concept, tips, pitfalls to avoid, and recipes. I'm down 30 pounds in 5 months. My focus has become health over weight loss, even though I anticipate reaching my target weight. I fully believe that a carnivore way of eating could have prevented the need for a cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, partial thyroidectomy, and multiple infertility surgeries. After 12 days on carnivore, I feel much better and know more about the proper foods to eat gain and maintain optimum well-being.

I'm missing my Carnivore family. I wanted to let you know why I've missed the last 3 meetings. My 91 year old Mom had gallbladder surgery on the 14th. By the 16th she was on life support. She had a DNR order, so doctors took her off life support and told us she had maybe 2 or 3 hours. However, God has given us BONUS days with her alert cont'd

Update on Lion Diet Journey: I had a set back over the silliest reason, which was all in my head. At a family event, my husband took pictures. I had lost 58 pounds and felt fabulous, plus I had gone down 3 pants sizes. However, when I looked at the pictures, I still looked so overweight. I was disappointed and heartbroken.

I ordered a set of Nordic Trekking Poles today. My July goal is to walk 3 days per week. Triple digit weather for Texas July days will be the big challenge for me.
