My battle with weight and health issues began in my early 40s. I've tried every diet and fad available to stem the tide of creeping weight gain. Over the years, I've abandoned hope that a doctor would provide the answers I sought, and started looking for answers on my own. My research led to the keto eating plan (June-Sept), and then it was a short sprint to carnivore (Oct '24). YouTube has been an excellent source of relevant information, proof of concept, tips, pitfalls to avoid, and recipes. I'm down 30 pounds in 5 months. My focus has become health over weight loss, even though I anticipate reaching my target weight. I fully believe that a carnivore way of eating could have prevented the need for a cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, partial thyroidectomy, and multiple infertility surgeries. After 12 days on carnivore, I feel much better and know more about the proper foods to eat gain and maintain optimum well-being.

Lion Diet Update: 70 days on Lion and I'm down another size. Hauled 7 bags of clothing to the Goodwill because I'll never be in those sizes again. Feels so good to say that with confidence after years of various diets and the constant up/down scales. Carnivore for the win!
Lion Diet update: Purchased a Ketone breath meter and ketones were 31. Per enclosed chart, I'm in the stable fat burning zone of ketosis and fat is my body's main source of energy. I'm finally feeling fully fat adapted. It has been worth the Lion diet journey to get to this level.
Lion Diet update: I've hit my lowest weight for the past 12 years. I feel great! Rest is excellent. Energy is high. My one regret is that I didn't find carnivore 20 years ago, but at least I know it now. I have a student with M.S. and I shared the healing benefit of carnivore with her yesterday. I hope she'll dive deeper and try it for 90 days.
Lion Diet Update: My goal is to continue on Lion through May; then I will evaluate progress for next steps. I feel absolutely wonderful on Lion. I experienced minor oxalate dumping the past week. I think it would have been worse had I not been on Paleo and Keto previously.
I'm feeling great on Lion Diet. Still tweaking fats and eating window. Weight is down, which translates to inflammation is down at this stage of my carnivore journey. It's encouraging to know the proper human diet is actually healing years of damage from the s.a.d. diet. Husband and son also seeing great results on carnivore.
Ketones 8.0. Back on track with ruminant meat, salt, and water. I'm feeling so much better. It took almost 2 week to get over 1 keto sweet. NOT worth the cheat; that is certain. Started DAO for histamine. WOW! Big help. Carnivore is a learning process.
If ruminant meat is what heals me then that is what I need to eat exclusively. I've listened to other long-term Carnivores say that if they deviate from Lion diet their bodies react. I think this is where I am too. Five hour eating window yesterday. Determined Lion Carnivore for the ultimate heal!
Have gotten off Lion Diet for a few days. Sweet cravings and busy schedule have added choczero chocolate, eggs, bacon, butter back in diet. Huge mistake as histamine reaction is over the top & inflammation is up. BP up. Out of ketosis. Today will be a reset. Back on full lion diet and no more stretching boundaries until Lion D has completely healed
Flu is in full swing all around me. I opted not to get a flu shot this year and have avoided catching the nasty virus in spite of multiple interactions with large populations of infected people the past 2 months. Carnivore has noticeably improved my immune system. So thankful!
